A Growth Problem?
My mom is 5′5".
My dad is 5′11".
My 17 year old brother is 6′1".
My 11 year old sister is 5′0".
Almost all my relatives are on the taller side except for my aunt who is 5′1".
I am a 14 year old girl and only 4′9.5". I started my period 2.5-3 years ago. I have only grown about 1.5 inches since I was 12 years old.
I have always been on the shorter side.
I am currently below the 3rd percentile on the growth chart. Should I worry about my growth?
Could I have growth hormone deficiency?
I read that you should be concerned if you are shorter than your younger sibling, which I am. It also said that you should be concerned if you are below the 3rd percentile on the growth chart, which I am also.
My grandma is 5′11" and my grandpa is 5′7"

A deficiency of HGH is certainly a possibility but a series of HGH injections by a doctor (which are likely to cost something like $10,000.00) can only help you if you are actually deficient in HGH due to a malfuctioning pituitary gland and if your growth plates are still open.
Apparently some amino acids are supposed to stimulate the pituitary gland to increase its release of HGH and a web search for "amino acids to grow taller" might therefor perhaps be of interest.
