What is the hormone that is usually implicated in the genesis of pituitary gigantism?

If so, why is this? Being over this height does not necessarily mean that you have gigantism.

I’m 5′9" but my parents aren’t tall – my mom is 5′0" and my dad is barely 5′10". All of my grandparents are shorter than me. The only other tall relative I have besides my little brother who is about 6′2" is one cousin who I swear has gigantism and albinism because he’s 6′8" with white hair and crazy pale blue eyes.

I’m only 14 years old and I’m almost 5′8. I am taller than a lot of the boys in my grade! It’s really annoying because I can’t wear high heels because I will be wayyyyy too tall. I want to stop getting taller. I was watching this thing on the Today show this morning and this girl had gigantism. I’m realllllly scared that I maybe have that. Please help. I want to stop growing.

hey I’ve been watching the show ‘my shocking story’ in discovery channel , about yao defen the 7′8 inches tall lady in china who had brain tumor which cause her gigantism , and unfortunately there was a power cut in the middle of the show , and now i`m not able to make up what happened to her , someone please tell me whether she is alive or not !

I need to know if my child should use hgh for growing uses and if it can be a over-the-counter pill.I also don’t know if a hgh supplement or if a hghreleaser is better I have also heard of gigantism occuring because of this.Please respond only if you have some knowledge and are not guessing.

Response: Yes, it is not meant to make people grow taller but my son keeps on asking me about this. People might say it is scary because it affects a gland in our brain, but it does really no harm to our brain.

My guinea pig (jamie) is 14.5 inches long and 19 months old, the vet told me it might have ‘gigantism’ but wasn’t adamant about it, do you know what this is?

I’m now 19 and I was diagnosed with a growth on pituitary gland when I was 15 I believe and the doctor said I was checked for gigantism and I didn’t have it, and that it was just a growth and nothing to worry about.
