is the use of growth hormones on poultry for food production legal in the United States?
checked the USDA site, most of the articles do not specifically refer to poultry.

I would assume that it is not banned, as it is legally used in other animals. Look at this link, but there are several articles/lawsuits regarding the same if you google it: http://www.foodservicewarehouse.com/education/health-safety/growth-hormones.aspx . Hope this helps
That’s why I try to buy organic (which is also controversial on the topic), free-range, or from a local farmer already processed. This is for my family, as I have actually been a vegetarian most of my life.
I have heard that food companies such as Tyson, etc. injects growth hormones in their chickens. Because we eat poultry or beef that could have growth hormones still in the meat of these products, I think that this could be a factor to why the children today are maturing faster than they did before and that media actually is not to blame? It’s something to contemplate…
One. I would highly reccommend you refer to the appropriate government department in your state and ask that. The practice his very well spread. I look for free range as much as I can, bu thats me.

No, which is why the "no growth hormone" statement on poultry by producers is very deceptive.
Just to point on free range animals, they are exposed to more pathogens and acquire more diseases than those raised otherwise. Poultry does not use hormones in their feed or otherwise. Hormones that are used in other animals, such as beef, are naturally occurring hormones that the body produces on its own anyway. (This is to the best of my knowledge, but I encourage everyone to do their own research.)
No, it is ILLEGAL!!!! Please disregard some of the above statements. Use of hormones is NOT approved for use in pork or poultry.
