Ok, Im just wondering about some stuff, and my dads not comfortable with this stuff.
So Im 15. Im a really late bloomer. I hit 5′ around last year. Im now 5′4. I have growth hormone deficiency. I have a lot of pubic hair. I think about the same as a fully grown man. My flacid penis is very small, but growing, and my erect penis is about 4 inches long. I recently, (3months ago) began to ejaculate. I have no armpit hair no facial hair no body hair. How far behind am I in different things. What stage in puberty does armpit hair come in. When will my penis start to grow more?

I have full-blown rheumatoid arthritis and just had my 17th surgery in 18 years. I also have an under-active thyroid, type 2 diabetes, highBP, depression, irregular heart beat, raynaud’s disease, growth hormone deficiency, high cholesterol and sleep apnea.

I was sleeping the other night and I woke up and it felt like something was pushing me down onto the bed with a very strong force. I could hear a loud whoosing noise in my ear. It’s really hard to explain. I got really dizzy and everything was spinning. It was hard to breath and my throat got really tight.
I have had asthma for maybe 6 years now (i’m 14) and i also have Growth Hormone Deficiency. I don’t think the Growth Hormone Deficiency has anything to do with it though.
What do you think happened?
Thanks, 10 points to best answer!

If you get a blood test that is testing for many different things including a karyotype and one for growth hormone deficiency, how long will it be until I get the results? The original is in Ohio and then parts of it need to be sent to California apparently so I need to know when the result and opr diagnosis will be sent back. I can’t stand not knowing. PLease and thank you.
Also, it has been almost two whole weeks.
Scratch that. It has been at least two weeks, almost three.
Well, they said that they would send them to me by mail but I could try calling.

These were my lab results i got back about a month ago:
cholesterol: 210
HDL;: 52
LDL: 131

My doctor noted that this could have been caused by my growth hormone deficiency which just showed up on the labs as well. (GH: 0.1).
She put me on Simvastatin 20mg once a night. I’ve been on them for a week.

What do think based on my labs. Should i be on this medication at my age? \
If you need more info please imply so.
thanks
i’m sorry the units used to measure are mg/dLs

if that makes any sense to you :-/

Hi all,
I am 4′10 inches tall and weigh 85 pounds. I’m a fully grown woman in her twenties who suffered from growth hormone deficiency as a child, hence my short stature. I like my height and don’t have a problem with it. However what I don’t understand is why people I’ve never met before want to constantly pass what I interpret as negative remarks about it.

I don’t know why anybody who meets me for the first time and KNOWS I’m an adult would think that telling me ‘You look like a little girl!/child!’ Or ‘you’re soooooo tiny!’ would be something I would find complimentary.
Don’t these people ever think, ‘Wow I’d really hate it if somebody told me how fat I am! Maybe I shouldn’t point out what I percieve to be this person’s flaw?’
Most of the time these comments don’t bother me at all but occasionally they grate on me.
Why is it ok to comment on height in this way, any thoughts?
I suppose I just don’t understand why people have to open their mouths in the first place. I’m short, but perfectly proportioned, pretty and very confident in myself. Why say anything at all? So I’m shorter than average? Big deal, you’d think I was 6 inches tall the way some morons carry on!
Sometimes I think its people taking out their insecurites on me.
They see I have twice their confidence and think ‘well I feel like crap about myself and I’M not that short!’ Maybe I’ll just stick it to her?
I suppose my main reason for posting this question is to get some feedback from people and to advise people to put themselves in a person’s shoes before they make personal remarks about them.
Also, please don’t refer to shorter than average people as ‘midgets’ its totally ignorant and uncalled for. I rarely get that as I’m proportionate and don’t consider myself a ‘dwarf’ which is the proper term although technically a ‘dwarf’ is somebody 4′10 and under.

I’m a 16 year old male and I’m 5" 7. All my friends have grown to be 5" 11+ so I was wondering if I’m suffering from growth hormone deficiency? BTW my Dad’s 5" 9 and my Mums 5 " 4…

So here’s my life story in a nutshell. I am a 17 year old guy who’s never dated or had his first kiss. I have always been very short, and I look like I’m 14 rather than 17. This has affected my self-esteem tremendously. Not long ago, I found out I had growth hormone deficiency because of a small tumor pressing on my pituitary gland. I got that removed, and I’m taking medication. But it will still take time for me to catch up. My brother, who’s two years younger than me, is taller than now and looks older than me. He’s started dating, and he makes fun of me for not dating. I know he is more attractive than I am, and I may be a little socially awkward, but being the way I am has kept me in a bubble. I heard a girl say she wouldn’t date me one time because I was too short. I am just depressed about the way my romantic life has turned out, and I just don’t know where to begin. How do I meet new people? How do I start a relationship without feeling self-conscious? Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it.

Its going to be a long story…so be prepared.

Ok, i’m 18, male, 5′4, 107 pounds. I have a immature face. Ever since the 8th grade I have stopped growing physically, I have no appitete what so ever, and I am actually losing weight atm. My mom is 5′5 and my dad is 5′11. No one on either side of the family are this short/young looking.

I went to the doctor to get my bloodwork done. Everything came back normal that he tested for…(not even sure if he tested for this)…But human growth hormone deficiency can be hard to test for in blood because it shoots out in spirts…so generally the amount in the blood will be low. I don’t know what to do, I want a second opinion…but where do I go?

I will eventually kill myself if I don’t get this resolved. Its all I ever think about anymore and I will never get over it. This life is not worth living. (Not that any of you care)

To those who claim "you will love it when your older!" obviously have NO idea what its like looking so young/short, being a male. I’m sick of it.

So if anyone has experienced this disorder or has a suggestion I would appreciate it…..Thanks.

I just turned 21 years old. And im 5′8 and not happy with my height. My father is 5′11 and my mother is 5′10 and i feel like i might have some kind of Growth hormone deficiency. Ive read that in some cases boys can grow until they are 23. And ive heard a few friends tell me that they grew 3 inches after the age of 21. I know its a rare chance. Im trying to find a doctor todo a Bone Age Study in my local area. I just moved to Arizona so i dont have a General Physician yet. So ive been looking on the web for a doctor that can do this kind of test. Ive called over 15 Offices trying to find a doctor that can do it. Almost every office i call does not even know what a Bone Age Test is. Even though the internet makes it seem like a common thing.

My question is if anybody knows what kind of doctor i need to find? Or any advice on this problem?
Also ive read that meeting with a endocrinologist would be a good choice as well. Can a endocrinologist do a bone age test as well while they check for GH?

i have growth hormone deficiency which means i need shots to grow and…have hormones? anyway im almost 16 years old and guess what? i haven’t started my period or even shown any signs. i have to go to the doctors twice a year and every time since i was like 14 they draw blood to see if they can see any problems….last visit they said next time they’d have a gynecologist ready for me…..i FREAKED…i am a virgin ( no shock there) and have never been….touched? for lack of a better word…by anyone except whoever changed my diapers when i was a baby…anyway…im….big….and um…im REALLY embarrassed about my visit. i almost break down crying whenever i think about it. i was like….molested? i guess you could say in the fifth grade by an older guy who was fond of…making rude gestures and getting very close physically to you…he grabbed my two bests friends breasts and um….humped me?…either way we got him expelled….there was no…contact but its kind of scarred me….so i don’t relish the idea of ANYBODY (male or female) touching me or feeling me up…i know its their job but STILL! any GOOD information on there…and please don’t tell me to "chat" with them on unrelated subjects because for me that’s gonna make it even more awkward….and um….im kind of worried about….this is gonna sound stupid but im worried about what they’re gonna think…i know i shouldn’t worry and they probably take their jobs VERY professionally but still…im gonna be self conscious like….what if they’re thinking " OMG TUNA" or something similar….please help me out…

I am 5′7, 130 lbs and I will be turning 15 soon. My parents are both 5′6, I have a 5′2 sister (she had growth hormone deficiency problems though), and my mom’s brother is 5′11. My dad has three 5′7 brothers, and a 5′11 one also. So my genes aren’t really on my side.

Physically, I do take more after my mom’s side of the family and they are kind of tall. My mom’s dad was 5′9, her mom is 5′6, and as I said her brother is 5′11.

I don’t think I’ve had a major growth spurt yet either. Last year, I hardly grew 3 inches. So that’s not a big growth spurt. But in November I was 5′5, and now I’m 5′7. So if I grew two inches in six months I guess I could be in a growth spurt right now.

Also, I drink lots of milk every day and try to get plenty of exercise. Although I haven’t been lately because of an awful pain in my knees. Could that mean I’m growing really fast right now?

In terms of how far through puberty I am, I don’t think I’m far enough through where I’m done growing. I have a little mustache growing in, but other than that no facial hair. And I have some leg and arm hair, and I’m starting to grow some fine hairs on my chest and belly. I’m part Italian though, so the hair is expected.

Sorry about all the info, but with all of that how much more do you think I have to grow? I wanna be at least 5′11, and most height predictors have me at 5′10-5′11. Do you think I could ever reach 6′0? And would stretching exercises help?

Thank you for reading all of this.

okay here goes. i always had problems growing up as a normal child. i never grew like other kids due to growth hormone deficiency. now since i was 15 i had been taking the hormones. ever since then i have seeing things more clearly and i can see what my body wants. but the other day i was thinking. what if it’s the hormones that make me attracted to guys. what if in the end i like women when im done with the treatment. i would prefer a man than a women. i want to be with another guy and life a happy life. so is it the hormones that make me feel this way. what if its just a phase i need help thanks everyone

So I am 25 (26 In Oct.) and I have never gotten my period before. I was born with a growth hormone deficiency and was told I might not get it until 16 or so…Well I just recently started going to an Endocrynologist & she just prescribed me Vivelle & Cumbi Patches to get it started. My husband & I want to have a baby & I want to know if anyone else has had this Kind of hormone therapy to have children & if so how well does it work. She says she wants to do artificial insimination right off the bat because this would giv the greatest chance of conception…Is this also true? We would like to try naturally getting pregnant & would like to know if it is infact possible!
She put me on Vivelle & Cumbi to begin my period as stated above…..
Sorry should have been a bit clearer….The patches are not used as hormone theraphy to get pregnant…these are an estrogen & progestrin to get my period going and my body on the right track…..I just want to know if anyone else has used them & gotten pregnant

My mom is 5′5". My dad is 5′11". my 17 year old brother is 6′1". My 11 year old sister is 5′0". I am 14 years old and only 4′9.5" and started my period about 2.5-3 years ago. Should I be taller than what I am now? Is there a possibility that I have a growth hormone deficiency?
I have only grown about a half-1inch sense last year.

I am 16 and a little under five feet tall. I come from a pretty tall family, but I haven’t had the growth spurt that comes with puberty yet. I know that some girls stop growing at my age, but in other cases you stop growing at 18. I’m worried I might have a growth hormone deficiency or something.

Should I consult my doctor? Should I see if I need to undergo any treatment?
And for the record, I eat no junk food, fast food, etc. I have a diet high in calcium and protein and also take vitamin supplements. I also take long daily walks for exercise. My lifestyle is healthy, overall.

Those who are NOT short stature genetically but due to malnutrition or growth hormone deficiency or other diseases, do they usually have proportional body but only shorter? Or do they have shorter limbs, normal size trunk, or small trunk but normal size limbs?

Thanks

i understand it’s some sort of growth hormone deficiency dealing with the pituitary gland, but i don’t know what it’s called.

I just turned 17 and I’m 5′6" and I have growth hormone deficiency. However my mom believes I might still just be a late bloomer like my dad was (he was my height at my age and then shot up to 6′1"). So is it possible for me to grow up to that height or close to it?

for example, is it possible for a person to have Hypothyroidism, Growth hormone deficiency, Fetal alcohol syndrome, Osteoporosis AND asthma at the same time without having AIDS?
i need an answer urgently, thanks.

Is it true people with Growth Hormone Deficiency have this?

Who have had growth hormone deficiency? I’m 16 and I was diagnosed with the problem when I was 13 years old and I have been taking growth hormone injections for the past three years because of a legion near my pituitary gland that interfered with the release of it naturally into the body. I feel blessed to have grown to my height now 5 ft. 9 since I was 4 foot 10 when I was 13. Is there anyone else with a similar experience?

Is it possible for doctors not to know that you have diseases such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Growth Hormone Deficiency, Asthma, Hypothyroidism, Osteoporosis or altogether when you were born?

I have full-blown rheumatoid arthritis and just had my 17th surgery in 18 years. I also have an under-active thyroid, type 2 diabetes, highBP, depression, irregular heart beat, raynaud’s disease, growth hormone deficiency, high cholesterol and sleep apnea.

I am 23 and not so tall (5.5 ft/169cm). Is likely that I have growth hormone deficiency. Will HGH actually help me in growth?
